The City of Silverton works in partnership with groups and organizations to ensure successful events within the City. When holding events involving 200 or more persons and on public property and rights-of-way, a Special Event Application is required for coordination of the event with city staff.  A solar eclipse is a natural event that takes place on Earth when the Moon moves in its orbit between Earth and the Sun, and the moon casts a shadow over Earth.
