The Community Development Department is comprised of the Planning Division, Building Division, and Silver Trolley as well as providing staff support to appointed commissions, boards, and committees.
The Planning Division coordinates and processes land use planning in the community. The Planning Division also provides staff support to the City Council, Planning Commission, Urban Renewal Agency, Tourism Promotion Committee and the Historic Landmarks Commission.
The Building Division administers residential and commercial building projects; and includes plan reviews, issuing permits, and conducting inspections consistent with the building safety codes, zoning code, and City municipal code.
The Code Enforcement Division is managed by the Police Department. They respond to complaint calls with appropriate follow-up actions.
The Silver Trolley is a dial-a-ride transportation service that operates within City limits.
