Project Information: Project includes installation of a dewatering screw press and a dewatered biosolids covered storage pad at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The dewatering screw press is a mechanical device that separates liquids from solids. It is a slow moving device that accomplishes dewatering by continuous gravitational drainage. It squeezes the material against a screen or filter and the liquid is collected through the screen for collection and used for further processing as required.


2022 - City hired Keller Associates to complete engineering design for concrete slab, utilities, screw press installation.

2021 - Pole building installed.

2020 - A pole building structure and covered pad will be constructed to house the equipment and dewatered sludge. The screw press is expected to be online in 2021. 

2019 - FKC was selected to provide the screw press for the dewatering process. The equipment was delivered to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

2018 - The City advertised for a sludge dewatering screw press. 

2015-2017 - Operators at the WWTP pilot a screw press, and additional dewatering systems.
