Obtaining a Permit
Commercial Projects -

Please call the building department at 503-874-2207 to
discuss your project.

Residential Building (Structural) Permits -

Your submission should include:
1) a completed Structural Permit application form;
2) two copies of a site plan drawn to scale;
3) three sets of building plans; and,
4) two copies of any engineering, truss, or other applicable information.

Your project will first be reviewed by the planning and public works departments and then reviewed for building code compliance. We strive to accomplish this as quickly as possible, but the actual review time will depend on workloads, applicant response to requests for additional required information and the complexity of the project.

Plumbing, Electrical, or Mechanical Permits:
Most plumbing, electrical, and mechanical  permits can be issued the same day. Currently,
the City of Silverton is not a part of the State E-permitting system.
