Welcome to the Building Department
The Building Department administers residential and commercial building projects within the City of Silverton boundaries. This includes plan review, issuing permits, and conducting inspections consistent with all local and state building, safety, municipal and fire codes.
- Inspection scheduling, viewing inspection results, and tracking the progress of permit applications may be done online through the Silverton Permit Portal.
- Inspections may also be scheduled by leaving a detailed message at 503-874-2208.
- Permit applications for structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical work are available online. Permit applications for work that does not require a plan review can be emailed to permits@silverton.or.us, placed in the payments drop box (located south of city hall, between the flag pole and exit to the city hall parking lot) or mailed to 306 S. Water Street, Silverton, OR 97381.
- Payments can be brought to city hall, placed in the drop box or mailed to: 306 S. Water Street, Silverton, OR 97381. The finance department is currently unable to take payments for permits by phone or internet.
- Drop-off or pick-up of project submissions, or other business with the building department can be done at city hall or by calling building department staff at 503-874-2207.
